We're heavily invested in our team. It is our most valuable resource and is completely focused on delivering the highest quality services and results to our clients.

Castleview Partners was formed in 2015 by Douglas Gill, Michael Mansur and Umberto Perez, three veteran independent financial advisors who pooled their deep investment, financial planning and technology systems knowledge, as well as their broad financial services industry experience. Key early additions to the team, in 2016, included Cathy Bailey (Director of Operations & Trading), Matt Marquis (Chicago Office Director), in 2017, David Fajardo (Director of Capital Markets), and in 2020, Scott Zachary (Director of Investment Management). All are financial services veterans.

By combining and integrating the skills, resources, contacts, knowledge bases and assets under management of all of these key players at the firm, we have been able to achieve three important objectives at Castleview. First, we have built economies of scale, driving costs down for our firm and our clients, and also giving us marketplace credibility and access to strategies that are not available to smaller firms. Second, we have put together an outstanding suite of back office/ support systems to provide a leading-edge technology and operations platform for the firm; and we have similarly assembled an attractive investment platform of best-of-breed strategies for our clients, using an open architecture approach to investing. Third, by organizing ourselves as an independent Registered Investment Adviser, we have ensured that we will continue to be able to advise our clients with integrity and objectivity, as fiduciaries, something which is very important to all of us.

A financial services veteran, Cathy Bailey has over 30 years of experience in the financial advisory business. She began her career at Weber, Hall, Sale & Associates in Dallas, an independent broker/dealer and boutique investment management firm. Ms. Bailey has held increasingly responsible relationship management, operations and sales positions in the industry, most notably rising through the ranks to Vice President while working for eleven years at Deutsche Bank Alex. Brown, eight of which were as an associate in Dallas and three in Baltimore as a NASDAQ liaison trader.

In 2004, Cathy joined Doug Gill at SummitAlliance Investment Group (later Argentus Capital Management) in Dallas, making her initial foray into the RIA/TAMP world. She began as relationship manager, moving up to Regional then Senior Vice President of Sales, where her focus was on recruiting and onboarding advisors entering the independent arena. It was here that she first developed her special talent for facilitating the entry of large institutional advisors into the independent world. 

In 2013, Ms. Bailey was recruited to TD Ameritrade Institutional as a Team Manager in Institutional Sales and Business Support. Her role there again involved assisting advisors on the path to independence. Her sensitivity and effectiveness with people in that role, complementing and exemplifying her service as a community volunteer, led to her being selected to participate in TD’s “Meet the Humans Behind Human Finance” national marketing campaign. While Castleview Partners was in its formative stage in 2015, Cathy again teamed up with Doug Gill and currently serves as VP - Director of Operations and Trading.

Cathy attended the University of Kansas and the Dedman School of Law at Southern Methodist University. She has held numerous securities licenses during her career and currently maintains her Series 7, 63 and 66 licenses. A lover of good wine, cooking, swimming, animals and summertime in Montana, Cathy serves as an usher and greeter at Lovers Lane United Methodist church and volunteers at The Family Place. She is most passionate about her volunteer work at Rays of Light Dallas, which serves special needs children in the community.

Rob Emrich has over 19 years of investment experience. Rob began his financial services career in 2000 as a financial advisor with Morgan Stanley. He has since worked in the fields of consulting services and money management, including his work as Vice President with Alliance Bernstein and Director with Janus Capital, where he raised over $1 billion for these investment managers.

In 2007, Rob completed the Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) program at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business.

In 2010, he developed an algorithmic commodity trading system and ran a portfolio for four years, trading over $4 billion in notional value of oil and gas, interest rate and foreign currency futures. Rob is currently involved in developing and managing investment strategies, including the use of index options for hedging market risk.

Rob graduated from Towson University in 1997 with a B.S. in Business Administration. He has been involved in the Austin community as a lacrosse coach and donates his time to helping animals at Thundering Paws Animal Sanctuary. He resides in Austin with his wife, Nicole, and their two children.

Prior to forming Castleview Partners, LLC in 2015, Mr. Gill previously founded Argentus Partners, LLC (now known as SAS Capital Partners, LLC) in 2001. During Mr. Gill's 13 year tenure as CEO of Argentus, the firm grew to more than 30 staff members and delivered technology, back-office and asset management services to more than $2.0 billion of client assets for independent advisors across the U.S.

Doug began his professional career with a Dallas-based hedge fund and then moved to New York to pursue equities trading on an institutional trade desk and the floor of the NYSE. Mr. Gill later returned to Dallas and joined a full-service financial advisory firm, Perryman Financial Advisory, in 1990 as an associate, becoming a shareholder/principal in the firm in 1997. He then formed Gill Capital Management, Inc. in 1999 to focus exclusively on improving after-tax investment results for affluent individuals and institutional clients. Mr. Gill brings extensive portfolio management experience to his clients, including options trading strategies, technical analysis and broad knowledge of global macro investment trends.

Past president of the Dallas/Ft. Worth Society of Certified Financial Planners in 1998, Doug was then involved with the financial profession at the national level as a member of the Financial Planning Association's Ethics Committee and served on the Institute of Certified Financial Planners' Committee on Practice Standards. He has often been quoted in the national and local financial media.

A graduate of the U.S. Marine Corps Officer Candidates School, in 1990 Doug earned a B.S. degree in Economics and a B.A. degree in Philosophy from Southern Methodist University.  Continuing his professional education, he earned the mark of CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) in 1994. Doug has previously held several FINRA licenses, including Series 7, 24 and 63 licenses. A lifelong resident of Dallas, Doug and his family live in the community of Lakewood, where he is an elder in the Presbyterian Church. He is also a past president of the Rotary Club of Park Cities.

Alyssa M. Guerra offers her clients over 14 years of financial services, retirement planning and investment management experience. As a financial advisor with SunTrust, Alyssa earned her clients’ trust with her transparency and diligence in providing personalized financial planning solutions. Her desire to empower her clients led her to establish an independent wealth management practice with Castleview Partners in 2017. Alyssa tailors each client’s financial plan according to his or her experience, investment psychology and risk tolerance. She strives to educate clients and review their options in detail so that they feel comfortable with the important investment decisions they make.

Alyssa has her Masters of Business Administration degree with a concentration in finance from Florida International University and earned the professional designation of CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) in 2009. She is a member or Our Lady of Lourdes Academy and Alpha Xi Delta Alumnae associations. She and her husband, Enrique, enjoy traveling and spending time with their children.

In Castleview’s Chicago office, Barbara is responsible for relationship building, financial advice, collaboration with third-party professionals and ensuring an excellent customer experience (CX). Barbara’s customer centric approach and Castleview Partners’ service-driven culture promote a highly customized experience for each client’s unique circumstances. Barbara and Castleview are driven by the same overarching objective and desire to become their clients’ most trusted and valued financial advisor.

Most recently, Ms. Kelly was owner and manager of Mint Private Enterprises, a single-family office servicing the financial and personal affairs of a client family. Barbara has over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. Beginning in 1991, Barbara obtained the Series 7, 63 and 65 while working on the Institutional Middle Market department at Merrill Lynch and then Retail Wealth Management Department at Merrill Lynch, Salomon Brothers, Montgomery Securities and Morgan Stanley. In 2005, Barbara co-founded an independent RIA firm, helping build it to over $1 billion in AUM. Barbara served as Chief Administrative Officer, Chief Compliance Officer (until 2014) and Principal, before leaving to work independently at the end of 2016.

Barbara earned her B.S. in Finance and Political Science from Northwestern University. She also holds the Certified Divorce Financial Analyst designation. She and her family live in Western Springs, Illinois, where she is active in her daughter’s school activities and a member/catechist at St. John of the Cross Church.

Michael began his career in the financial services industry at Lord Abbett in 1998, rapidly learning his profession while serving as a Financial Advisor at Morgan Stanley and Stanford Financial. Most recently, and prior to founding Castleview, Michael served as a President's Club Level Financial Advisor at Stifel Financial, where he provided executives and successful entrepreneurs with asset management and advanced financial planning services.

Mr. Mansur is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) and a member of the Financial Planning Association. He is also a graduate of the Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) program at the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley and the Investment Strategist Certificate Program at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business. In addition to FINRA Series 7, 63 and 65 licenses, he holds a Life and Health Insurance license.

Michael is a 1997 graduate of Texas Christian University. He and his wife and three children live in Dallas, where he is an active member of Christ the King Church.

Matt Marquis joined Castleview Partners in 2016, establishing the Chicago office at that time. As Director, Matt oversees the activities and productivity of the growing branch. In addition, Matt is an advisor and interested in creating efficient portfolios using alternative investment strategies. Throughout his financial services career, Matt has partnered with alternative managers and technology companies to provide best-in-class portfolio strategies and structures for his clients.

Matt was a member of the Chicago Board of Trade, holding two seats on the exchange from 1995-2007. He co-founded a proprietary trading firm, Adirondack Capital, where he supported and partnered with independent traders investing in equity and fixed income futures and options markets. In 2008, Matt transitioned to the financial advisory business, working first at Merrill Lynch and later as a registered representative with a Chicago area RIA from 2008-2016. He holds the Finra Series 66 license.

Matt earned his B.S. in Geology from St. Lawrence University and his MBA from the Kellstadt Graduate School of Business at DePaul University. He and his family live in Barrington, IL, where he is involved in the various school and extracurricular activities of his four children.

Umberto Perez brings over 19 years of experience in the financial planning industry to our firm and, with technical expertise, he utilizes his knowledge in investment, retirement and estate planning to connect with clients. Since the beginning of his career, he has undertaken extensive professional training and continues to develop his expertise in the industry. As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®), Umberto dedicates his practice to the design and implementation of customized financial strategies for individuals, businesses and foundations. He is committed to delivering personalized service, cutting-edge solutions and comprehensive asset management to those he works with. Umberto is currently registered in 9 different states and holds FINRA Series 6, 7 and 66 certifications. He is also licensed and well-versed in the areas of Life, Health and Annuities.

Prior to entering the financial planning profession, Umberto worked at the Capital Bank of Florida. His experience there served as an introduction to the broader world of financial markets and helped form his interest in financial advisory services. Following his tenure at the bank, he was recruited by MassMutual Financial Group in 1999, where he assisted clients with their financial goals as an investment advisor. Umberto later joined Guardian Life and Park Avenue Securities in 2003 as a registered representative focusing exclusively on improving after-tax investment results for affluent individuals. 

Throughout his career, Umberto has maintained a philosophy of providing clients with objectivity and ethical financial advice. Over time and with experience, he has learned that this can only be accomplished as an independent financial planner, not compromised or limited to the platform and products of any one financial institution. With this in mind, Umberto founded his independent financial planning firm, with the purpose of creating an Open Architectural Platform for his investment and insurance strategies. This advantage has allowed him to remain in the forefront by introducing broad-based innovative investment solutions with a truly unbiased opinion. 

Umberto holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a double major in international business and marketing from Florida International University. He has been quoted in numerous articles and has lectured at local universities, as well as associations and charitable events. Umby, as he is known to his friends, and his wife, Neyda, reside in Coral Gables, Florida with their sons, Brandon and Brody, and daughter, Demi.
